The "OrtoRomi per la Scuola" project continues to have great success, with which, since 2019, the company has invested in the food and environmental education of children and young people, so that they can increase their knowledge on these important topics from an early age. age, with the essential support of families. For OrtoRomi, which has always been at the forefront of sustainability, promoting an initiative of this type is perfectly in line with the values ​​of well-being, authenticity and respect for the environment for which it works every day.

This year's edition, which has just ended, has been enriched by a special novelty, a contest through which the very young students have been asked to transform what they have learned into a slogan: an activity with which to give free rein to their imagination and internalize some important concepts, but also an opportunity to win a voucher to spend on educational material. The € 500 prize was awarded to the Frazione Colognole school (Pisa), the San Giovanni Bosco school (Varese) and the Baselice P. Pio school (Benevento), which were drawn from the 216 who uploaded their works.

A further competition was also launched, which provided for the creation of a drawing on the topics dealt with among the benches. In this case it was OrtoRomi herself who selected the 3 winning drawings from the 177 that were presented: the S. Nicola La Strada school (Caserta), the Walt Disney school of Piombino Dese (Padua) and the Trepunti school ( Giarre, in the province of Catania) received a € 200 voucher.

The interest in the project was confirmed, once again, by the numbers recorded: 338 primary schools and 127 preschools were enrolled, for a total of 465, mainly from Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont and Veneto. with Lombardy, Tuscany and Lazio to follow; in all, the classes involved were 1,665. Children and teenagers participated in various activities, for a fun and educational exploration of the world of food and nature in the company of two exceptional mascots, Tina and Dino. Specifically, there were 3 didactic areas: digital laboratories, video pills and visits to the OrtoRomi factories. The digital laboratories and video pills were carried out through an innovative online platform, which can be used in the classroom by the teacher, from which it appears that the most popular educational courses were Garden in the classroom, Fruit and vegetables in color and More salad for everyone; do not forget the activities to do at home with the parents, actively called on the field.

OrtoRomi has confirmed the project for the 2022/23 school year, and is working to improve and implement it with new proposals, which will take into account the valuable feedback from teachers who have already participated in the initiative with their classes.
